A Letter from Jane to all members regarding October 20th

Dear Member,

I am writing to urge as many of you as possible to take part in the anti-Austerity march and demonstration called by the TUC on 20th October 2012.

This ConDem Government is making Savage cuts to our NHS and Welfare State. Imposing year on year pay freezes which are impoverishing all of us.

Our children, our elderly and people with disabilities are being targeted by a Government hell bent on sending us back to Victorian times. Where poverty disease and social unrest was the norm.

Similar policies are being forced on people all over Europe. We have seen scenes in Greece and Spain where austerity is biting hard.

Our valuable public services are being decimated by this Government. We must stand up for Public Services and to protect the most vulnerable in our society. I urge you, come and join us on the march and demonstration.

We will assemble at 9.30am outside the Angel Tube Station; we will then take the underground to Charing Cross Station.

Those wishing to meet us in town can link up with us at Villiers Street (near Charing Cross Station), shortly after 10.am. We will then proceed to join the UNISON contingent on the Embankment at around 10.30am. Times are approximate – so please note the following contact numbers:

Jane Doolan – 07940 393 741
Mike Calvert – 07957 430 223
