NO TO CUTS! LOBBY OF LFEPA MEETING ON 21 JANUARY

NO TO CUTS! LOBBY OF LFEPA MEETING ON 21 JANUARY

This is to remind members that the London region of the FBU has called a mass
lobby of the fire authority meeting which is scheduled to take place on Monday 21
January at brigade HQ, 169 Union Street, London SE1 0LL (assemble from 1330 hours
outside).

At the meeting, it is certain that proposals will be tabled that would see the closure of a number of fire stations in London, with the resultant loss of hundreds of firefighter posts. This follows a decision by the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to drive through £65m of cuts in the LFEPA budget.

There can be no doubt that such savage cuts would decimate the London Fire Brigade and jeopardise the safety of Londoners. We therefore urge all FBU members to attend the lobby. Please bring tunics, whistles and caps. Members' families and friends are also encouraged to attend. There will be a number of speakers on our platform, including trade union leaders and supportive MPs.

NO TO CUTS! NO TO AUSTERITY!

SAVE OUR STATIONS!

SUPPORT THE LOBBY ON 21 JANUARY!

Yours in unity

LONDON FBU
