Preparing for the transfer of social work registration (England)

UNISON has produced a new bulletin for social workers in England which summarises the changes to registration that will take place from 1 August 2012.

The register of social workers will be transferring to the Health and Care Professions Council from that date – and there are a number of changes to the regulatory system that social workers need to know about.

We have also written to all local authorities in England asking them to compensate social workers for the huge hike in fees they are facing, and we are asking UNISON branches to submit local claims to pursue this.
