General Secretary Elections 2015
The General Secretary elections will take place over the autumn and it is vitally important that we play a full part in electing our General Secretary .I have organised a hustings meeting for the 5 Candidates on September 21st 12.30 until 2pm in the Union Chapel. I have approached HR for facility time as I believe it is vital that our members fully participate and hear what the candidates have to say and more importantly question them as to what they will do for us the membership if elected.
The candidates are Dave Prentis. Heather Wakefield, Hayley Garner, Roger Bannister and John Burgess. Their statements are going out in a mail out to members and they will also be available for members to read at the hustings.
If quorate the hustings will decide who the Islington Local Government branch will nominate. Nominations close at 5pm on the 9th October.
The ballot to elect the General Secretary opens on the 9th November and closes on the 4th December. The results will be published on the 17th December.
Their is a legal requirement for General Secretary elections to take place every 5 years so it is vital that we all participate in this election
